2024 Fall Regional - A Rendezvous in the Driftless!
Mark your calendars for the October 16th – 18th in beautiful La Crosse and start making plans to attend this WLIA Regional Meeting. Several great presentations are planned focusing on topics & projects within and about the Driftless Area.
Here is a Sneak Peak into what the Education Committee has been putting together for what is sure to be a great 2024 Fall Regional:
-
Marcy West, the former longtime Executive Director of the Kickapoo Reserve Management Board, will talk about the history of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and experiences related to resource management in the Kickapoo Valley
-
Philip Marty, the GIS Administrator for Organic Valley (food products), will share with us some ways in which the Organic Cooperative is using GIS
-
A team of folks working with Silvernail Studio for Geodesign, will be telling us about their use of ArcGIS Hub to collaborate on the Black Earth Creek Watershed Green Infrastructure Plan.
We also have a unique social event planned for Wednesday evening: A trip to the Rivoli Theater in Downtown La Crosse for pizza, food, drinks, and a private showing of the documentary “Decoding the Driftless” produced by Sustainable Driftless.
The fall colors are usually exceptional in mid-October in La Crosse, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to visit with your colleagues, have a little fun as usual, and learn about many great projects happening in the Driftless Area.
Look for more detailed information on the WLIA Fall Regional in mid to late August, October will be here before we know it!
