Silent Auction and 50/50 Break Record!
The WLIA Foundation’s Silent Auction raised a record amount this year at the WLIA Annual Conference in Elkhart Lake. Online bidding was fast and furious during the conference, spurred in part by the QR code scanning which made it easy for everyone to bid on their favorite item. The auction raised $5,561.00, setting a new auction record! Thank you to everyone who donated and/or bid on items.
The WLIA Foundation also benefits from the 50/50 raffle proceeds. Thursday’s total was $1,543.00 and included a re-donation of the winner’s portion ($770) by Kim Christman. Friday came in at $663.00 which also included a re-donation of the winner’s portion ($330) by Martin Goettl. BIG THANKS to these two generous winners, and to all of you who purchased raffle tickets.
Altogether these three events raised $7,767.00 for the WLIA Foundation. 100% of the donations go back as scholarships to higher education students in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Studies and Urban Planning.
And finally a quick shout-out to Ann Barrett’s team (Kim and Paula) and all the rest who helped organize, set-up and distribute items for the auction as well. Your commitment and dedication made it all possible.
The best part about the whole auction though, is…”It’s for the Kids!”
